Education Department Head Issues Circular Letter in Facing The Spread of Corona

Jakarta Education Department Head, Nahdiana issued circular letter No.16/SE/2020 as her response with the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Ensuring the environment remain clean and hygienic

In that letter, her side reminded all apparatuses in Education Department to socialize all teachers, school employees, students, students' parents, as well as managements in formal and non-formal schools about COVID-19, including its symptoms and how to prevent the spread.

Moreover, her side encouraged all communities in schools to pray more often, stay calm, and maintain their health by implementing clean and healthy lifestyle, washing hands using soap, eating nutritious and balanced foods, doing physical activity as usual and getting enough rest.

"Avoid useless activities in the crowd, limit students activities outside the school and encourage school employees who are sick to rest at home while ensuring the environment remain clean and hygienic," she asserted

According to her, school needs to coordinate with the nearest health center (puskesmas) or hospital regularly thus when someone in school community is indicated by symptoms of fever accompanied by coughing, runny nose, sore throat, shortness of breath, school administrators can report it immediately to the nearest health facilities.
